I thought that it might be helpful at this point to give you a few of my observations after a week of classes on some things that are important to all of you in my online classes.

1) Like it or not we live in an Windows based (XP or Vista) world. Especially with blackboard, things just work better with Internet Explorer as your browser. Yes, I like Mozilla Firefox as well, but when I am using the YC Portal and blackboard I use Internet Explorer as my browser.

2) Please, please, please, please put your name, the course you are in and the assignment you are referring to on all correspondence to me. You might be surprised how many emails I get that say, “Hi I am in your class, what materials do I need”? No name, no class reference. I am left pretty lost.

I have six (6) online classes with over 150 students. Please identify yourself and the class. It really helps.

3) Do not send me your assignments as attachments to emails. I want all of this to happend as “attach local file” to blackboard and then Submit the assignment.

4) Feel free to call or email me. Discussion boards are another method but calling or emails are the best.
